Exploring Mauritius: The Best Places to Visit on Holiday

Although the island of Mauritius may be small, with a total area of roughly 2,000 square kilometres total, the island boasts thousands of incredible attractions, beaches, restaurants and historical landmarks. Whether you plan to visit for a relaxing beach holiday, a cultural expedition or to just shop and dine, you certainly won’t be disappointed in Mauritius. Here are some of the best places to see and explore during your Indian Ocean holiday in Mauritius:

Surviving Ibiza

If you’re heading to Ibiza for a clubbing holiday, read our guide before you do…

Ibiza’s tourist season begins in May and runs until the end of October. If you’re reading this article to find out how to avoid the hardcore revelers, you should head there during either in May or in October, as the clubbing season runs between June and September, and large swathes of the island are devoted to its service during this time. The only big club open at the start and end of the season is Pacha. As May turns to June, Es Paradis follows, and then Space, Amnesia, Cream and Cocoon. If the big clubs aren’t your thing, there are plenty of smaller venues open year round.

Bangkok and Phuket (Final part)

Having filled our bags with bargains, we left for Phuket the same day. On landing in Phuket, we booked the PhiPhi Island tour for the next day. It is highly recommended that one book such a tour because of two reasons. Firstly, PhiPhi Island is accessible only by ferries and travellers who are not a part of such packages are charged more. Secondly, passengers who book a tour at the airport are given a free shuttle to their hotels. Public transport is nonexistent and taxis are very expensive. Our hotel, Ibis Kata was an hour’s drive from the airport. Had we not booked the tour for about 1000 baht, we would have spent 800 baht just for the taxi back to the hotel! Lefkada Island – Greece

My beautiful Lefkada

Close and lock the office, pack your briefcase away, because you are coming away on vacation to my wonderful and ancient Greek island of Lefkada. It is not easy to miss the masts of all the yachts and catamarans berthed alongside the many jetties in the marina of Lefkada town. In the winter, sitting at a table having lunch in one of the many harbor front taverns, or sitting in one of the cafes, sipping a strong Greek coffee, being lulled by the sound of the rigging ropes tap tap tapping against the masts in the wind, it is easy to daydream oneself back to summer, remembering those carefree halcyon days, sailing the crystal clear waters of the Ionian sea.
