“Debutant Sagan makes his mark on world stage”

The 1st Stage of the 99th Tour de France started of from Liege to Seraing, a distance of 198kms, with all of the 198 riders riding this year. With the race route spread around the Ardennes, there were 4 Category IV climbs, with the final one coming on the finish stretch, which kept the race on its toes.

Come July every year, an armada of cycling fans from across the globe, focus their attention on France, for its Tour de France (TdF) time. The biggest annual event on a global scale is in its 99th year and this year we will see a June30th start for what will be another epic saga enacted over 3500km of France and neighboring countries.

The 2nd Stage of the TdF was from Brussels to Spa and once again the people of Belgium showed why they are such a keen cycling nation by turning up in huge numbers to cheer the riders onwards. So much so that at several points there was hardly any space for the cyclists to race!!

The Toughest 3 weeks for a professional Cyclist begins…

Come July & all the attention of the sporting world turns to France, where the World’s biggest Annual Sports event kicks off in the first week itself. This three week long cycling event is perhaps the toughest human endurance sport and the success stories that come out of this is what the legends are made of. Yes, am describing Tour de France. The world’s premium annual sporting event and its here for the 97th time – with the kick off to start from Rotterdam, in Netherlands.

During one of the rest days for Tour de France, we also thought of taking a break from the race and move to explore another part of France not covered during the TdF. We chose Lyon, second largest city in France after Paris with a population of over 1.7 million people and an industrial centre specializing in chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries besides a fast growing gaming and software industry.
