Its time again, for the most prestigious beauty pageant of India. After conducting auditions in 12 cities across the country, 20 potential candidates for the Miss India crown will finally sway the ramp on April 5, 2009 in Mumbai. The pageants are going to take the ramp in beautiful ensembles designed by leading designers like Prasad Bidapa, Ritu Kumar, Rajesh and Anirban for Pantaloons and Rocky S. The contestants are undergoing a rigorous fitness training schedule to help them get in shape. Bollywood actor Isha Kopikar is said to have met the finalists at a gymnasium to provide some tips.

Pantaloons Femina Miss India does not only provide a platform for the brainy beauties to showcase their talent but also help create easy inroads to the career path they choose. But before that, my desire is to watch them take after Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Priyanka Chopra, Diya Mirza, Lara Dutta etc and bring some international laurels into our kitty.
