I don’t think so. When Roger Federer cried recently at the French open, it was because he was ecstatic over his win. It was the biggest win according to him as he played under tremendous pressure. So he got emotional. So what! He cried when he lost to Nadal. Big deal! Only he would know the feeling to loose closer to a win.
I heard from my friend who in turn was quoting her friend that Federer should be bought a pink frock! Common grow up lady! There is nothing wrong in being open about your feelings. I find him rather cute.
It’s our society who made this norm that girls can be emotionally weak while the guys need to put up a tough front no matter what. Aren’t guys humans too? Just because you are crying doesn’t mean you are weaker; it’s just that you are more sensitive. Weak and sensitive are totally two different adjectives and only fools can’t see the difference.
I have a peculiar problem. I cry when I am most angry. It’s one way of stopping me from saying things in anger that I don’t really mean. You get angry at only people who matter to you the most and in my wildest dream I wouldn’t want to hurt them knowingly. So I shut myself up totally. No amount of counting helps (I can keep counting!) but yes crying calms me down a bit.
So all you guys, loosen up a bit. Share your feelings. If you are married give your spouse a chance. She will only respect you more for treating her close enough to open up.
But but but….. Let me warn you Guys that all ladies (including me) run at the sight of a man who has the ability to cry at the drop of the hat! That was and will remain our domain.
Cheers!
