Since the days when Internet was delivered in command prompt interface, then when Internet was first introduced to the browsers in Kerala with astronomical rates, I have been online for most part of my life. But nothing has excited me more than the concept of cloud computing. It is the ultimate of converged lifestyle and something I love as a power user.
Consider a huge space online which will contain all aspects of your life connected to the appropriate hardware offline and a single interface to manage them. That is essentially cloud computing. A world where your devices can talk to each other and send commands to each other and they are constantly synced to your information.
Consider a life where you can access your files anywhere you want. That recent Michael Jackson album you just bought on the desktop? Its there on your mp3 player already. Your phone book is in the cloud and so even if your phone battery dies or if you switch phones, all your data is available on the cloud which you can access on the move anywhere anytime. As companies bring in more devices into the cloud, the day when you switch on the coffee maker and the air conditioner at home before you leave office is not too far.
There are other applications for the enterprises and businesses on similar lines too depending on how much data they want to be on the cloud. But there are concerns about privacy and security with the advent of this technology. But then, I am game! . So, what are your views about the future of cloud computing?
