A visit to New Zealand is there on my bucketlist. So when I read about Tonga, I just had to add it to my bucketlist along side New Zealand. Or maybe I can club it with my trip to Hawaii? Well, we will see  :)

Ensconced in the South Pacific Ocean, Tonga or the Kingdom of Tonga is an archipelago of 176 islands out of which 52 are inhabited and is perfect for pacific holiday experience. Lengthwise, the Kingdom stretches over a distance of about 800 kilometers in a north-south line located about a third of the distance from New Zealand to Hawaii.(source :wiki)  Read more...

Trip to GIR National Park

Known as the jewel of Gujarat’s ecological resources GIR National Park was our destination for a family vacation. Thirteen of us decided to pack our bags and head towards GIR, one of the big sanctuaries with the major big-cat concentrations in India. We were traveling from Chennai and so chose to break our flight journey at Mumbai and catch up with our friends and relatives before resuming our journey the next day by train. The train journey from Mumbai to Rajkot was around 14 hours. We found the jeep sent by Club Mahindra Resort waiting for us at the station and thus our journey into the world of jungle begun :)  Read more...

Manx Missile fires as usual on Champs-Elysees

Just as I had predicted in my last post,Mark Cavendish of Team Sky won the last stage of this year’s tour on the Paris Champs-Élysées in his inevitable style, repeating the final sprint, just like what he had done in last three years!! In the bargain, he also became the first ever Road Race World Champion to win on the Paris Champs-Élysées. (Me thinks, he will make it to the Olympics Gold Medal also)  Read more...

Just as I had predicted in my last post, about how Bradley Wiggins of Team Sky was going to win the last individual time trial (TT) of this year’s tour, Wiggins, blasted over the 53.5km course as if there was no tomorrow, and in the bargain, not only won his second stage of the tour, but also sealed his efforts to be the first ever British winner of the Tour de France!!

Cavendish wins for the 22nd time on the tour.

Just as I had predicted in my last post, about how Mark Cavendish of Team Sky was waiting for a chance to prove his form, he rode a blistering sprint in the final 600m and won the second stage in this year’s tour, his 22nd win in his career. He thus equals the record of the famous sprinter of yesteryears – André Darrigade, and also showed that his form for the Olympics is formidable.  Read more...
