The Lighthouse Pic: Raghuram S Godavarthi
One visit to the cliff behind the lighthouse – at the westernmost edge of the town convinced me this was far greater reward, and inevitably, my feet found their way there every evening, in the hope of catching a sunset.

A Long Awaited Sunset Pic: Raghuram S Godavarthi
I spent all of five evenings at the cliff, waiting for two to three hours every day for the clouds to part and reveal a dipping sun. But it wasn’t until the final evening that the Sun delivered a parting glimpseand broke through the clouds so very briefly before lapsing into its repose. Read more...
Home to Lord Krishna, Dwarka is probably the holiest of cities for Hindus, built on the banks of Gomati River. Dwarka is one of the Char Dham (along with Badrinath, Puri and Rameswaram). A perfect example of resilience,Dwarka is known to have been destroyed by the sea no less than 6 times!! What stands today is the 7th version of this ancient wonder.
In this guest post Raghuram S Godavarthi ruminates over his 6 year old trip to the city of Dwarka in Gujarat.

Canary Islands Pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37388942@N02/4421957281/sizes/m/in/photostream/
Holiday makers have been flocking to the Canary Islands for years, drawn by the promise of pristine beaches, high quality hotels, and practically guaranteed sunshine. Cheap air travel has also helped. However, each of the islands hides a depth of experiences behind the obvious attractions of the beach, and this is particularly true of the third largest of the islands, Gran Canaria.
Gran Canaria has a reputation for being a continent in miniature, and there’s no doubting that it has an astonishing diversity of landscapes and things for the average tourist to do. Of course, one of the main charms is the remarkable quality of the hotels, so holidays in Gran Canaria pretty much guarantee top class accommodation. Read more...

If you’re heading to Ibiza for a clubbing holiday, read our guide before you do…
Ibiza’s tourist season begins in May and runs until the end of October. If you’re reading this article to find out how to avoid the hardcore revelers, you should head there during either in May or in October, as the clubbing season runs between June and September, and large swathes of the island are devoted to its service during this time. The only big club open at the start and end of the season is Pacha. As May turns to June, Es Paradis follows, and then Space, Amnesia, Cream and Cocoon. If the big clubs aren’t your thing, there are plenty of smaller venues open year round. Read more...

The largest of the Balearic Islands, Majorca, welcomed its first charter plane back in 1950 at a small, regional airstrip. These days Majorca boasts an international airport and welcomes over 10 million visitors every year, a number that dwarves the local populace of just 750,000, half of whom live in the capital.
Majorca is the archetype of resort holiday heaven, with guaranteed sunshine, the beautiful warmth of the Mediterranean Sea and wonderful beaches. Majorca has a little bit of everything, making it a great place to visit. The capital, Palma, is a charming city on the south side of the island, set in bay which is famous for its remarkable sunsets. There’s not a great deal to see in the city itself, but the atmosphere is fantastic and there are loads of good bars and restaurants. Read more...
