Getaway from Kochi to Puzhayoram Health Resort

As I was planning and figuring where to go for a vacation in Kerala; I was reminded of our last trip to Kottayam. Memorable indeed!

With silent Meenachil River serving as background Puzhayoram health resort is a beautiful property located on the Kumaranalloor-Kudamaloor road, 5 km from Kottayam town enroute to Kochi. Alpha is a level of brain wave frequency. Meditating at that level connects you with your subconscious mind. Meditation has always had positive results provided you are disciplined enough to do it regularly. But alpha meditation is something new I came to know about. It’s like this, when we meditate, our brain activity slows down as we enter a more peaceful state of mind. The brain activity is measured in four levels

Beta: Your normal waking state, which is characterized by brain rhythms of 14 cycles per second and above. In this state your mind activity is a veritable can of worms. The higher the brain activity becomes, the greater the stress factor.  Read more...

What does having a kid mean?

I happened to read a research article about the affect of birth of a child on married life. According to researchers at the University of Denver (DU) and Texas A&M, having kids could mean end of marital bliss!

Ok, so far I don’t have anybody calling me mama. But I still feel the bond between a husband and a wife only gets stronger upon the arrival of a child. A kid means shared responsibility and it’s totally upto parents how they steer their new life.  Read more...

Reality show queen Rakhi Sawant

Only few days back I saw a video on www.justascrap.com (my friend’s blog) about Rakhi slapping her ex boyfriend Abhishek and then making up with him very publicly amidst high current drama.

And, now the latest news says that Rakhi is all set to find her soul mate through a swayamvara. And this fuss and play is going to be telecasted on NDTV imagine as a reality show which is be predictably called as ‘Rakhi ka Swayamvara’. She will be staying with 15 prospective grooms (who will be selected by her after screening through the registration process) and… I love this part…she will be giving these guys tasks to perform and these 15 guys would actually be doing it whole heartedly to get to marry the pesky and perky Rakhi!! I don’t know who will be happier the person getting eliminated every week or their families, whom Rakhi is personally going to visiting during the shows.  Read more...

Well, the resource center is built around to impart skills to visually challenged and make them self sufficient and job ready. Training in computer skills, communication skills and mobility skills that are taught harnesses talent beyond sight. Anjana, a friend of mine recently headed to a showroom to basically “check out” the Nano and has been all praise ever since. She found the car cute and sexy at the same time. It’s quite spacious from inside, is what I am told. One must not expect boot space though.

Where to watch Kathakali performance in Kochi?

Kathakali, the classical dance drama is quite popular amongst the tourists and locals in Kochi / Cochin. There are many art centers who organize Kathakali performance on a daily basis. However, it’s important that you go to an established and reputed center. I have a bad experience once. Without taking the name of the center, the dingy auditorium coupled with a Malayalam accented English speaking narrator, I was ready to sleep!
Since, a layman totally depends on the narrator to understand the various gestures and facial expressions of the artist; the role hence played by the storyteller becomes very important. I am giving you here, names of two centers that you can surely go to…  Read more...

Well, having met and known Ritika Ramitri personally I am so happy and proud to know that she was the trainer behind the Pantaloon Femina Miss India World Pooja Chopra. In fact Pooja Chopra , Hanika Paryani , Karishma Karnik and Nishtha Khadiwala, who vied for the top spot have been personally trained by the charming Ritika. Shooting Cases in USA

Who doesn’t have problems in life? I am appalled at the rate of murders and suicides being committed in the US of A! Come last few days, there has been news after news of tragedies and more such tragedies.

First it was the Malayalee man in Santa Clara, California who killed 6 of his family members including 3 kids before shooting himself. Come off it…kids?? What was their fault afterall? Then there was an incident in Los Angeles, California where a father killed his wife, their five young children and himself after he and his wife were fired from their jobs. And the latest one I came to know of today is from Washington state about a father shooting 5 of his kids before committing suicide after he came to know of his wife’s infidelity. Phew! And to think of it these are the last 3 cases. There have been so many more!  Read more...
